Having said all that Phil, its looking non too shabby.
This might seem like a silly question, but what programme do you get the video files to run with, as nothing "media" on my puter will run them?
Btw see you didnt change the date yet either lol
Simon

The straights seem fine to me, those corners are too quick though. Maybe try shot of the car going past the corner from next to the track. Some places where you have lots of tight corners maybe some helicopter following type shots.

I use XP and Windows Movie Maker. it comes free with XP and meets my limited requirements and is fairly easy to use. It allows you to chop files and put them back together.

As for playing the files I use vlc media player.

Hi Simon - When I plugged the lead in, a box came up with Removable Disk (E:) title and I used Microsoft Scanner and Camera Wizard, not sure if its right but I need something to edit the outside shots into the lap and a few titles wouldn`t go amiss. I need a ten or twelve year old kid to show me how to do it!

My next attempt will be at a lower voltage and take five grams of weight out of the front and turn off the brakes.
Cheers - Phil

Hi to all.
my camera arrived last week the delay was my fault as time had stopped me from ordering. It arrived packed very carefully and is very easy to set up.

Just for a starter recorded about three minutes worth of footage on top of a aston db9.Then placed usb into lappy and running windows xp and windows media player it started straight away.Wow really impressive.

Taking the memory card out of camera and placing it into smart phone i thought that it would play using the real player wich is built in.
Took some time to locate the file but found the phone had stored it under a DCIM file and it will not play.have downloaded several media players and it still wont play.

So back into the camera it goes.going to get a 8 gig card and and fill it and then edit on windows movie maker and burn onto dvd.

I took the card out and couldn't get mine to play on any phone of the people at work. It must be something to do with the recording format, or more likely some copyright thing on phones.

Hi to all.
as i mentioned it went into a dcim file on my phone.had a look on the web as to what this means and managed to find a dcim file converter but could not get it to download to phone.

Even if this were to download i think whatever smart phone you did it on would also a multi media player;i have downloaded several to my handset and they still will not play a email i was sent with a wmv file attatched.

Easy way is to copy onto a computer and edit the file on there and burn to dvd.have even seen software to allow smartphones to play dvd and to fit a complete film onto a 1 gig micro sd card.

Need to find a smartphone guru! Anyone?

Congrats man! Way cool, eh??? I've burned some to DVD and depending on the size of the TV you play it on the resolution really looses a little quality when you blow it up. I was playing on a 32" TV and the quality kinda sucked IMHO but is just fine for web and computer playback. Good luck and lets see those vids!!!

hi to all.
not to surprised about loss of picture onto large screen tv you can not have it all i suppose.
Counts me out for playback via this method as we really enjoy our films at home and have just upgraded to a monster in the living room.

Will be nice to get a good couple of hours of footage and give it the cameron touch though.eat your heart out avatar.lol.

Great work, I think adding one of these to the camera:

and running the car slower you will have a fantastic video.

I locked up a controller until I could just get the car to drive around the circuit as slow as possible, still looks fast on the video!

I will have to take some outside video and try some editing.

Well, I wonder if I have done something wrong.

I got my "808 car keys micro-camera" a.k.a. the #3 key fob camera and connected with the USB cable to the computer. It blinked and then shut off.

So I changed the USB cable and it blinked then stayed on. A good sign according to the instructions.

I then formatted a Kingston MicroSD chip and inserted it into the camera. Felt a bit loose but carried on.
Plugged the USB cable into the computer and got "USB Device Not Recognized". Not what I expected.

Checked the MicroSD card directly in the computer and it is OK.
I have the camera connected to the computer and have a steady light on the key fob camera. Holding the On/Off button does nothing. Disconnected the USB cable and key fob camera blinks then goes out.

Tried turning it on again but just blinks then shuts off. Tried inserting the MicroSD card and pressing the Reset button then the On/Off button. No change.

Unable to get it to stay on or even take a single picture.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Or is it just a bad item?

Have not contacted the manufacturer yet.... thought I would eliminate "user error" first.

Cheers!

Are you sure the micro sd card is inserted properly? It need to be pushed in very firmly with your fingernail until it is right inside. If it is a bit loose and falls out when you shake the camera then it is not pushed in far enough.

The camera will not work unless the card is inserted.

Failing that you have probably got a dud.

hi to all.
yes you need to insert the card the right way up and when its the right way up and inserted right the way in you will hear a click and the card should just be flush with the body of the camera.just about the only thing missing in the instructions is this article.tried mine mine both ways until i heard it click into place.

Agree about the speed of the cars;going to do another one tonight and run the cars as slow as possible.
