Message from a slot dealer in France :

QUOTE En effet suite à une "extrême recommandation" de NSR , nous sommes dans l' obligation de remonter nos tarifs sur ces produits à 63€. Nous vous conseillons donc de nous appeler pour passer commande de ces produits par téléphone et bénéficier du tarif normal ...

I think you can get the gist without translation, but if it's true, it would appear that NSR are applying pressure (allegedly) to stop the dealer advertising prices below 63euros.

Maybe NSR would like to comment publicly on these tactics.

You can read it both ways. It could be that NSR had to raise their seller price after a strong recommandation of their account manager. It nowhere states in the above that you cant sell below that price, only that you van order at local telecom rate.
Nb, no store seller lower than 69 euro at this moment. At least no new models.

In the USA for example it's legal to dictate prices to retailers. Prostitution of any product eventually means retailers with shop fronts have no eccentive to sell that product, which then gives the manufacturer no eccentive to manufacture. Less profit for the retailer means no money to service customers properly. At the end of the day everyone in the food chain needs to eat. It's healthy don't be concerned over a few euro.

Well, Italy and France aren't in the US... It's impossible to tell what has been going on here, so I'm judging no one.

In the entire EU, any agreement or understandings btw. a supplier and a retailer restricting the retailer's freedom to determine his/her resale prices are a violation of Article 81 EC Treaty - in other words resale price maintenance is prohibited. A supplier may only give non-binding "recommendations" on resale prices - without any contractual commitment on the part of the retailer to implement them and without any pressure or economic incentive by the supplier on the retailer to implement the recommended prices. This is implemented in national law across the EU.

But it says nowhere that the retailer should raise the price. It just says, he have to raise our price up to 63 euro. Thats the price NSR is selling to the shop. So NSR is almost apologising for the price they have to ask after a strong recomendation. Who hasgiven that recommendation to the is nowhere stated.
I must admit, french isnt the easiest language, even for people who live there as expats.

But....letshere it from they man, mister NSR himself.

Most countries had or have a similar law but a lot has changed recently so I'd check to see if here has been any changes.

As the message it in French and NSR is Italian and the message comes from the third party and not direct from NSR all you guys should take your tin/alum foil hats off and get back to the real world.

You buy whichever car you want from whichever source you chose and pay the price you are happy with, end of story.

As a company NSR charges their dealers or wholesale customers the price they need to be profitable. What price the "retailer or re-seller" charges is up to them.

In which case neither can any of the conclusions reached in this thread. As I said everyone take off their metal foil hats.
